No Sew Gnomes have gained so much popularity it was going to their heads. They had totally taken over the gnome page so we had to separate them.
We have a Sock Gnome Page. Here you will find all the basics to get you started. Filling the socks, beards, noses, arms, boots and shoes. There are lots of OPTIONS so you can mix and match and make your gnome your own. There are also lots of hints and tips for those who are already addicted.
Sock Gnomes
Standing Gnomes
We have a Standing Gnome Page. This page will show you how to attach boots or shoes to your gnomes so they will stand. It also will show you different things to use for the body of your gnome to make him stand better. It will show you what you need as a body in order for your gnome to have legs and how to make them. These will give you more opportunity to add extra details.
We now also have a Gnome Themed Crafts Page. Wall Hangings, Shelf Sitters, Decoupage, Free AI Generated Images, Free SVGs, Gnome Treats and More (Some of these used to be on this page. They've moved)

- You want to trim the fur where you are gluing the boots and hat. So those are attached to something solid and not just fur.
- You also want to make sure you weight the shoes so he will stand.
Add Tennis Shoes for a Fun Look
Add Eyes for another LOOK
These also make really cute refrigerator magnets
You can add a body to the Faux Fur Pom Pom Gnomes. I used a RX bottle, one of the fatter ones. I wanted a container wide enough to attach the boots and a flat top to glue the pom pom to. I filled the bottle with rice and polyfill for weight and covered it with felt.
Place the nose below the Pom Pom and you got a girl gnome

Prescription Bottle Gnomes
I used these smaller prescription bottle gnomes for lots of projects. These are great by themselves, but I like them when I want to add more then 1 gnome to a project.
Pill Bottles are great for smaller gnomes. Remove the label (Yep even gnomes have HIPAA regulations) and cover with material and decorate
Add petals and a clay pot to your pill bottle based gnome for cute Flower Pot Gnomes
Cut a felt square into strips length wise, however long you want your petal. I did thirds here and only used 2. Then cut slices the other way careful not to cut all the way through. Usually into 5-6 sections. Round off the ends to shape like petals. * None of this needs to be precise or exact. Real flower petals are not perfect !!!
Roll your cut petal strip around the bottom of the pill bottle, gluing as you go.
Add a second or even 3rd strip, depending on how many petals you want. Stagger the petals as you go, if the petals start to line up to the previous row. Cut the felt move it over and continue. Fold petals down to form a flower.
Cut out leaves from green felt and glue to the bottom of your flower (Not the bottom of the pill bottle)
Use the stiffening fabric method from above to make the petals stay where and how you want them.
Decorate several of them similiar for a cute display. They work well for tiered trays
The larger wider pill bottles I use for a base for my regular size gnomes. You have to make sure the base is wide enough to add boots. I also use the larger cylinder shaped aspirin bottles
Although the picture shows a Lions Gnome. THIS IS A BASIC TUTORIAL FOR RX BOTTLE GNOMES. Leave off the Lions Logo and sign and you have a basic gnome you can decorate/accent anyway you want.
I found what I thought was cool on Amazon you get 20 pcs of Faux Fur PLUS 40 pcs of the wooden balls for $16. He was made from these. There are a couple of different options for the colors of the fur. The fur is nice and long. Depending on the size of your gnomes you will get SEVERAL out of every sheet. Several of the wooden balls are small but I like them for eyes and hands. It's a good way to try work with fur if you haven't tried it yet. Hobby Lobby's Faux Fur Sheets are $3 EACH x20, this is a pretty good deal.

Gnomes and Fake Bakes
Combine your gnomes with a Fake Bake for a really cute display.
Angel Food Cake Gnome
Pumpkin Pie Gnome
Monster Mash
Frankie is a Standing Pool Noodle Gnome. Monster Pie is done like the Cream Pies on the Fake Bakes Page
Gnome Cupcake
This one is Fake but he'd be cute with real ingredients too
Gnome Chocolate Tiered Tray
Crown Royal Gnome
Save the Crown Royal Bags, they make really cute gnomes. I like to cut the hem off the bag (where the eyelets are) just below the stitching to make a brim for his hat, if you line them up just right they look like eyes.

Potheads
Clay pots can make cute hats. These are just basic sock gnomes I added a clay pot for the hat and glued them into a clay pot liner for the base. Accent them anyway you like.
Add Arms and they can hold your accents
Add A Sign
Use just the clay pots. Stack 2 or 3 different size clay pots
Add A Plant. Use the clay pot as the face and add a plant for the hat.
Gnomes Made From Other Things
I found these little ceramic mushrooms at Dollar Tree. Glue a beard, nose and accents for a quick easy gnome. Add boots (Instructions on the Sock Gnome Page) to take that extra "Step".
These little DT Mushroom Homes can also be turned into gnomes. I love how the mushrooms above the windows look like ears :D

Really Big Gnome
This one was made from a plastic jug you get from Sam's Club or Costco. They usually have Cheese Puffs, Pretzels etc in them. In this case it was Tootsie Rolls
This is made pretty much the same as you would any other No Sew Gnome. There are just a couple of things, that you do for the regular gnomes that are even more important when doing a larger gnome. This is not a Step by Step Tutorial, it's just a guide. Click on first pic to start.
The small gnome is my standard sock gnome, I wanted to make one to show you how big this guy is. That's not a very accurate measurement, but to just measure him doesn't give you a true picture. Not sure if all gnomes like Chicken Noodle Soup, but this guy towers over a standard size soup can.
I used a nose I made from a nylon. I needed a BIG nose and this was a great way to achieve that.

Alcohol Bottles can be turned into Fun Gnomes
Garden Gnomes and Mushrooms
Gnomes are a 2"x 2" board cut at about 4"
I painted the bottoms and used fake fur for the beard, wooden peg for the nose and burlap stiffen with Mod Podge for the hat
For the mushrooms I covered half a Styrofoam circle with red burlap using Mod Podge and added white burlap circles again with the Mod Podge. Make sure the red has dried completely it will bleed unto the white if it's still wet. Glued them on top of another 2"x2"
Five Minute Gnome
Dollar Tree Slippers can be easily turned into a gnome. Simply roll back the heel and add a nose. Add them to a sign or a wreath or use him as a tree ornament
Materials
Gnome's clothes can be made from any material.
Dollar Tree has a lot of cute seasonal towels, that can be made into cute seasonal gnomes. This tutorial covers How To Use A Towel For Your Gnome.
